The Challenge: A premium boutique hotel lobby in Brooklyn was constructed with cold slate tiles, white drywall, and fluorescent tube lighting, creating an uninviting and clinical foyer entrance.
Our Approach: We clad the main concrete walls with vertical curved oak wood slats, embedding indirect warm LED light profiles to draw eyes upward. We replaced the laminate counter with a massive custom reception desk carved from a raw block of porous travertine stone, detailed with brushed gold joints.
